Sometimes ago, Linda Ikeji bought two Hermes bags valued at $14,000. And when she made a post about it; then up in flame some Internet trolls when after her. One even said that “Linda Ikeji was suffering from poverty mentality” because of her reaction to some comment made on her post concerning the purchase of the Hermes bags.

If you are new to blogging or reads blog post online, then the name Linda Ikeji should ring a bell. Linda Ikeji is a top Nigerian blogger and someone whom other bloggers would refer to as far as blogging business is concern. When she also bought a huge house in the luxury Banana Island; the exclusive abode of the rich and affluent in Nigeria; that also became big news shared effortlessly online. Infact, that singular act to some is what opened so many people’s eyes to how lucrative blogging business could be. In case you want to go into blogging, just know that you need hardwork and dedication to make it a success. But in all, you should have a passion for it and be ready to use the right tools on/offline to achieve your purpose.

Ordinarily why the collection of bags would become a controversy on social media you may ask? It all boils down to what you have passion for, cherished and worked hard to achieve. When you work so hard to achieve a purpose then you wouldn’t want anyone to rubbish your pride or ego by mere words when you know for sure that such a person(s) is not up to your standard. This you would do anything to protect your pride and ego which at sometimes, might lead to your speaking negative words that might also become hurtful but which would do your image nothing good.

In as much as you have become a celebrity; remember that people are there watching your every move just to criticize you even if you are right or wrong. People at this time would not remember that you as a celebrity is also human like them. And that it is the same blood that flows in them also flows in you no matter what. The moment you become one, it is at this point you should learn how to control your temper and become the right rule model which others are looking up to. It is not every abuses word that you should reply. Remember it is you that would have what to loose and not them. When you reply any abuses words to your person, it is like going into a fight with someone that is insane and whatsoever that comes out of it, it is entirely your making.

Immediately Linda Ikeji showed off two Hermes Birkin bags on her Instagram page as new acquisitions. It didn’t take long for the Internet trolls to send the bag to Hermes for authentication. Sometimes you begin to wonder why people would concern themselves in other people business as if they have no work to do. Though Hermes came back and confirmed the bags were fake. Did Linda Ikeji know that the Hermes Birkin bags were fake? This I believe she did not know. But my thoughts to her reaction is something she should have kept her silent and not to react immediately. When you react instantly, you react with emotion and might not have control over yourself. In a haste to react, you might react in a negative way that you might later regret. Inspirational Quotes About Fulfilling Destiny And Reaching Your Destination In Life

– “I can afford to buy a N500million house but
can’t afford a $14k bag? B**ch pls!”
– “This lovely bag cost me more than these
haters cars cost and they want to come and
disgrace me online? Lol. Lailai”
– “The side of the bag. Oh and I’m snapping
from my banana island mansion(insert LMAO
emoji) love this life
– “….can someone cc Hermes with the new
images? These people can’t come and
disgrace me here. Lol”
– “Too rich to buy fake…”

The above quotes are some of the words she used to defend her purchase of the bags. If you look in-between the lines, it is all a display of the real person that is us. The moment you try to defend that which is vanity, you make such become like a mini-god unto you.

Now looking at the quotes, lets draw some inspiration from them one after the other.

– “I can afford to buy a N500million house but
can’t afford a $14k bag? B**ch pls!”

Everyone can’t get all they want at the same time. It is either you have one and lose the other. You might be rich but good health might become a challenge. If you can afford a mansion and the other afford batcher, it the same air we all breath. Sometimes, the rich man begs for biro in the bank. So you can’t have all that you want. If you learn not to show up, it would help in great measure.

The use of the B**ch or F**k word shows the level of our understanding and how we value others. Though people might hurt you be their use of words, it is not of us with our level of understanding of life to join them in the same attitude. When you reason and become like them, people would tend to take you like them.

When you make a mistake in your choice of words during an outburst and you realize your mistake thereafter, it is of essence that you act for forgiveness. When you show remorse, you make peace with your soul. But when you feel it is a right to hurt others just the same way they tried to hurt you, then where is the love that is human.

– “This lovely bag cost me more than these
haters cars cost and they want to come and
disgrace me online? Lol. Lailai”

Thought you possession might cost any amount that is above the imagination of your thought and that of others, but you shouldn’t make it look as if your life depends on it. Your life is more valuable than your life possession. What your have is vanity but that which is worth eternity is your life. In as much as you value your possession; do not make it detect how your inner life should become.

– “The side of the bag. Oh and I’m snapping
from my banana island mansion(insert LMAO
emoji) love this life

Sometimes it is good to boast over that which we have. Isn’t it what makes us felt good? When you make a boast of what you have, it should be with same people of your class and understanding. It is of such people that would understand the worth of what you are saying. When you make your boast with those who are below your class, you belittle yourself and make a mockery of the worth of that which you seem to boast about.

– “….can someone cc Hermes with the new
images? These people can’t come and
disgrace me here. Lol”

Was the first image posted fake? And the second image real? Actually you shouldn’t be in a haste to send out information. Always have a rethink before you make such information available. The moment you send it out, make sure you are prepared for the reaction that follows. “These people can’t come and disgrace me here. LOL”. With the use of LOL, this sounds like a joke and a simple way to gather the needed publicity.

If people don’t talk about you, then you are nobody. So to gain relevant, let people keep talking about you. But in this, it should be for good and not for controversy. Though controversy increases and spread you popularity but such has its negative consequences which sometimes might not be in your favour.

– “Too rich to buy fake…”

When you say too rich to buy fake, it lightened the element of pride in you and that for sure is what drives away the value of humility. I am not a hater of success but rather someone who would always want to see all grew above poverty. The moment you walked your way out of poverty with the help of God, then that element which might mentally confirm you back to some poverty thoughts, should be expunge from your mindset.

Though Linda Ikeji later apologized for her outburst, but the deed already was done. Sometimes, we shouldn’t allow our emotional feelings control out thoughts for when that occurs, we might say the words that we might come to regret later. Learn to be silent at some point even if others are making a mockery of us. When you are silent it says a lot about our person and it makes us avoid some mistakes that are avoidable.
